What's All the Fuss About?

If you are a guitarist who has recently purchased an electric guitar and would like to improve on the sound of it then you may want to consider using Alnico pickups on it.electric guitar alnico pickups This is actually one of the most popular types of pickups for this type of guitar. It has a distinctive sound that many electric guitar enthusiasts find quite pleasing to hear. But if you are new to playing electric guitar or have been playing it for a while and still want to make it sound better, then you should look at using another type of pickup as opposed to using an Alnico. There are several reasons for this and we will look at them here.

First of all, Alnico is not the best quality of pickup to use for a guitar that requires a very tight tone.electric guitar alnico pickups electric guitar alnico pickups When a guitar player is using this type of guitar pickup for such a guitar, then more energy is required to produce the same sound. It also causes the volume to be exaggerated. For instance, if the player is using a pickup like the Mesa Boogie style, then using Alnico would actually push the volume up because of the amount of energy required to generate the sound. So when you are first starting out and only play with your guitar at a lower volume, then this type of pickup is not really going to help you out that much.

Another issue to be concerned about with Alnico pickups is the fact that they tend to have a muddy and muffled sound to them. Some even say that it sounds like there is too much noise coming from the pickup when in fact it is not. Many believe that this type of pickup is so cheap that they don't worth paying for. The reality of the matter is that some pickup manufacturers actually put a little bit of noise into their products to fool consumers. But on the other hand, some guitar players feel that the extra noise that comes with the Alnico pickups actually enhances the sound that they produce.

The sound that is produced by Alnico pickups tends to be warmer and fuller than the sounds that can be obtained from more traditional humbucker or single coil pickups. This is due to the fact that the Alnico coil creates a ground loop that allows for the passage of more vibrations through the guitar speaker system. The more vibrations that go through the speaker system the better chance the guitar will have of sounding rich and balanced. The more dominant notes that can be obtained from an Alnico guitar are usually compared to that of using a full-size bridge.

When choosing your electric guitar or bass guitar set, the best way to go is based upon personal preference. There are certain pickup types that work better on certain brands of guitars. The thing to keep in mind when choosing your guitar is what will ultimately be used to hear and reproduce the sound. Some bass guitar pickups are better for producing a crunchier sound, while certain guitars like the Fender Stratocaster need to have a smoother tone. So once again it comes down to what is most important to you as a guitarist.

There are many different manufacturers that make Alnico pickups for electric guitars. Some of the more popular manufacturers include Fender, Yamaha, and Squier. However, as far as finding the best pickups for your specific needs go, you should do some research. Check out sites such as eBay, Amazon, and other music related websites. As with anything in life you get what you pay for. A decent bargain on a high-end pickup should not come as too much doubt though.
